Know Your Rights presentations for the staff of local companies
Networking meeting of 15+ local organizations committed to supporting immigrant families to identify our capacities, and outstanding needs. (1-2025)
A protest march against inhumane immigration enforcement in Ypsilanti, including approximately 170 concerned community members (1-2025)
A campaign to resist immigration enforcement in area restaurants by providing “Know Your Rights” (KYR) information to restaurant owners and managers. This action trained approximately 25 volunteers across Washtenaw County to take KYR information to 150 restaurant owners and managers to learn how to resist immigration enforcement in their business. (Begun 2-2025, is ongoing)
Immigrant advocacy with local police through service on the Sheriff’s Immigration Task Force and follow-up on cases that involve both local police activity and immigration enforcement toward support and protection of immigrant families.
Presentations to numerous groups of allies on myths, facts, immigrant rights information, and impacts of immigration policy on our local community to raise awareness and enhance ally involvement in volunteer opportunities.
